There has long been a growing concern about illegal and offshore lenders operating in our industry and CFSA shares this concern. All CFSA members hold licenses in the state in which they operate. CFSA has and will continue to support the creation of a national registry for all legitimate and licensed lenders to protect consumers against illegal companies. The presence of a national registry would help protect borrowers from the cash grab scams that pose as legitimate lenders online.
